Ada yang berbeda dari Nissan Cube. Bukan karena bentuknya yang persegi atau memiliki jendela asimetris. Yang terbaru dari produk Nissan, adalah jendela belakang yang cukup besar dan memudahkan bagi orang pendek untuk bisa melihat keluar.

Ukuran body Cube yang kurang dari empat meter dan turning circle hanya 4,6 meter. Cube memiliki "edgiest" desain. Styling yang kuat diharapkan disukai khalayak muda. Cube juga menawarkan interior yang kuat dan menampilkan berbagai aksesoris yang mengedepankan personalisasi. Cube, mobil yang dirancang lebih ke sisi desain dan kenyamanan dengan ukurannya yang kecil namun lapang.

Sebagai model mobil mungil Nissan menyiratkan, setiap varian Nissan cube dilengkapi mesin DOHC inline 4-cylinder dengan 122-tenaga kuda memberikan dan hemat bahan bakar. Mesin 4-silinder 1.8L dengan 122-tenaga kuda,Cube tidak dirancang untuk dikendarai dengan kecepatan tinggi. Mengikuti sukses generasi sebelumnya, Nissan menargetkan menjual 1 juta unit Cube. Sumber di Nissan menyatakan bahwa Nissan Cube akan dijual ke pasar sebesar 15.300 poundsterling atau sekitar Rp 154 juta.

1,5 Juta Unit Mobil Produksi GM Ditarik

Awan hitam kasus penarikan kembali (recall) masih tak mau lepas dari pabrikan amerika Serikat (AS) General Motors (GM).

Kabar terbaru menyebutkan, GM harus menarik 1,5 juta unit mobil, crossover, dan truk yang diproduksi antara 2006 hingga 2009 akibat berpotensi menimbulkan kebakaran.

Masalah ini diduga berasal dari sistem wiper yang bisa memercikkan sumber api. Dan parahnya, pihak pabrikan tidak bisa melakukan perbaikan lantaran kerjasama dengan pemasok komponen bermaslah tersebut sudah tidak terjalin.

"GM akan membayar USD100 kepada setiap pelanggannya yang datang ke diler-diler resmi GM," kata Director for Safety GM, Jeff Boyer seperti dikutip dari Reuters, Rabu (9/6/2010).

Boyer juga menambahkan, sistem pembersih kaca itu bisa membersihkan kotoran, air, es, dan salju yang menempel di kaca depan.

Adapun model-model yang ditarik yakni truk pikap Chevrolet Silverado, Avalanche, Sub Urban Tahoe, Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV and Escalade EXT, GMC Acadia, Sierra, Yukon dan Yukon XL, dan Saturn Outlook, produksi antara 2007-2009.

Recall ini juga mencakup Chevrolet Traverse 2009, Buick Enclave dan Cadillac CTS 2008-2009, Buick Luceme, Cadillac DTS, dan Hummer H2 2006-2009.

Meski telah memberikan kompensasi berupa uang, para montir resmi GM juga aakn memperbaiki sistem yang rusak tersebut dengan memakan waktu sekira 20 menit.

Dan total biaya yang diperkirakan untuk memberikan kompensasi ini mencapai USD150 juta atau sekira Rp1,4 triliun.

Jutaan unit produk GM yang ditarik itu antara lain terjadi di AS (1,365 juta unit), di Kanada (98.800 unit), Meksiko (26.250 unit), dan 38.100 unit di negara lain.

Mitsubishi Tarik 11.000 Unit Strada Trinitron

PT Krama Yudha Tiga Berlian Motors (KTB), selaku agen tunggal pemegang merek (ATPM) kendaraan Mitsubishi di Indonesia, akan menarik (recall) 11.000 unit Strada Triton melalui program "Kampanye Inspeksi".Dalam siaran pers KTB y di Jakarta, Jumat (4/6), disebutkan penarikan akan dilaksanakan pada pertengahan Juni 2010 mendatang.
Kampanye inspeksi dilaksanakan atas instruksi Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) untuk melakukan Field Fix Campaign, yakni pemeriksaan dan pengencangan baut atau bolt di upper arm ball joint depan kendaraan Strada Triton produksi Februari 2007 hingga Januari 2009. Ada sekitar 11.000 unit kendaraan Strada Triton di Indonesia yang termasuk dalam rencana kampanye inspeksi ini.

KTB selaku ATPM kendaraan Mitsubishi di Indonesia akan bertanggung jawab untuk mengambil tindakan lebih lanjut dengan mengirimkan surat langsung kepada para konsumen. Dan mengundang mereka mengunjungi dealer Mitsubishi untuk pemeriksaan. Kampanye ini merupakan pemeriksaan dan pengencangan kembali (Inspection and Re-tighten) baut atau bolt, dan merupakan jenis service yang sederhana. Dalam populasi terbatas ada indikasi baut atau bolt yang tidak terpasang dengan kencang, sehingga inspeksi perlu dilakukan untuk memastikannya. Strada Triton pertama kali diluncurkan pada Mei 2007 dan pada tahun 2008. Seluruh varian kendaraan ini menggantikan model sebelumnya, yakni Strada L200.
